Grants Community Based Initiatives
Craving to establish ourselves as an NGO that caters for Old Age/senior
citizens in Kenya, Grantsbased Organization is endeavoring to uplift the
socio-economic status of abandoned and neglected senior citizens
residing in various parts of the country.
Employment
If you want to empower someone, provide him/her appropriate work
opportunities. Financial inclusion is also an important aspect to take into
consideration. Grantsbased has started a project namely “ Inua Mzee” to
train tocommunity members in various skills. This skill development
program is based on their interests and capabilities. This initiative not
only will increase employment but also it may build a strong network of
the workforce too.
Awareness
Grantsbased org is steadily working to aware members of the society not
only about their rights but also about their duties. More Rights give you
more responsibilities. Responsibilities against human rights violation and to
protect the dignity and integrity of Human Life. Grantsbased is taking this
fact into the notice that awareness will .Trickle Down to the next generation
if the present generation is enlightened well. To conquer this objective,
we been organizing Awareness Camps, Community Outreaches etc.

Women Empowerment
Amongst the majority of the elderly population, therein lies women who
are still living in the discriminatory environment of our society. Yet they are
ghting for equal opportunities, equal rights and equal responsibilities.
They have been passing from a phase of identity crises. Their least role in
Decision-Making is making them more vulnerable. Grantsbased Org is
trying their best to empower them nancially, economically, socially,
culturally and psychologically
Food Distribution
Grantsbased has distributed food and grocery items exceeding US$ 20,000
till now among the various groups of old people. In Central Province
specically Muranga County, more than 50 families have benetted
through food distribution and household shopping. This area is has the
most vulnerable old folks who need this kind of support in order for
them to live normal lives. Because of one of this reasons, a chain of
welfare programs are required hence we are trying to give our best for
the sustenance of the elderly people.
Bedroom Makeovers
Grantsbased has done several unique bedroom make-overs for the
elderly and needy in society. This is after having received several requests
from many needy people especially after having made for them shopping
to cater for their everyday need. This is one unique area since the facilities
and sleeping conditions of many of the visited folks were in dilapidated
states. Therefore Grantsbased took it upon themselves to undertake a
complete overhaul of the sleeping conditions by buying new beddings
which included beds,mattresses,bedsheets,blankets/duvets, pillow cases,
bedsheets and sanitary equipment such as specialized portable toilets.

How We Work
All the older adults or senior citizens who have gone through heaps of
traumas and suerings deserve a better place to stay where they can
nd the fragrance of love and respect for them. Attempting to hold our
ground as an NGO for senior citizens in Kenya, Grantsbased is expanding
its network and connecting with old age homes to serve the senior
citizens with their paradise to make them live their life composedly and
gracefully at the same time.
Our goal is a loving family for every elderly person. We believe that
together, we can change the way we care for the elderly and help to get
them into stable, loving, nurturing environments.
We know the very best thing for an elderly person is to be part of a loving
family—it’s where they thrive. That’s why everything we do as elderly
people’s charity is designed to accomplish just that.
Thanks to you, we are currently seeing our methodology used in many
elderly homes in Kenya and are helping more than 1,000 vulnerable
people in need to thrive.
